Bioshock movie production halted amid spiralling budget

Production on the recent video game franchise movie - Bioshock has been halted amid Universals fears over out of control spending.

They insist that the movie will be going ahead, but with recent cutbacks in the movie industry because of falling sales, the huge $160 million budget movie is in trouble. So until producers can find cheaper ways of making the movie, we’ll have to wait.

With director Gore Verbinski (Pirates of the Carribean) attached to the project, we can expect something special, but with no video game movie every making $160 back for the studio (Tomb Raider came close though), Universal’s concerns are understandable.
